iQ is a 45 ft (13.72 m) sailing catamaran built by Voyage Yachts in 2010, offered for private yacht charters straight from the V&A Waterfront. She is berthed on the North Wharf outside the Victoria and Alfred Hotel, a short walk from the restaurants, so guests can step aboard without a transfer.
Who she suits
With space for up to 33 guests, iQ suits groups who want a real sailing experience: friends celebrating a birthday, a wedding party, a team outing or a family holiday trip. The covered seating protects guests from sun and wind, while the trampolines up front are the spot for anyone who wants to lie back and watch the water.
On board
iQ has a wide teak deck, cushioned seating under a roof with side screens, and two foredeck trampolines. Two heads, a cash or card bar, a braai, free Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth sound system are on board. Add-ons include seal snorkelling, stand-up paddleboards, a super tube and jet skis.
Routes from the V&A Waterfront
Most charters cross Table Bay towards Robben Island, the Blouberg beaches or Clifton, with the skipper choosing the direction to suit the wind. A two-hour private sunset sail is a favourite for proposals and anniversaries. Charters run from two hours up to a full day; iQ is a day boat and is not available for overnight charters.
